This amazing place ranges from the eternal ice of the over 3,000-meter-high Kitzsteinhorn to the banks of the frozen Lake Zell. This fairy tale scenery will leave you speechless. Beside the breathtaking view, this place is mecca of the winter sports. From three diversified skiing areas – the Kitzsteinhorn, the Schmittenhöhe and the Maiskogel to the landscapes covered in deep snow, perfect for  hiking and snowshoe tours or even ice skating on the frozen Lake Zell.

Skiing & Snowboarding


Zell am See-Kaprun is considered one of the most attractive skiing areas in Austria. Three areas are offering a total of 138 slope kilometers for skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts. Beside these areas there are five snow parks, Austria’s biggest super pipe, mogul slopes and ski trails which are offering you unique experience in snow activities. If you’re willing to learn something new, apply for free-ride XXL workshops where state-certified guides will prepare you and teach some skills on how to ski in deep snow.

Winter walks


Either if you don’t ski or you just want to take a rest of skiing, Zell am See-Kaprun is also the perfect place for hiking, snowshoe or Nordic walking. Follow the cleared paths and enjoy the picturesque mountain landscape. Additionally, there are guided tours of GPS ski safari or an art hike along the “Höhenpromenade” on the Schmittenhöhe.

Peakworld 3.000


One of the most interesting facts about Zell am See-Kaprun is definitely Peakworld 3.000. It represents the highest point of the region, called Kitzsteinhorn. With three cable cars you can reach the spectacular panoramic platform from where you can enjoy a breathtaking view to the valley of Kaprun, Lake Zell and 30 3.000 peaks. The Austria’s oldest national park Hohe Tauern, from there feels close enough to touch.
