The project ‘Swing Time’ by Höweler + Yoon Architecture is a new, interactive playscape composed of 20 illuminated swings designed in three different sizes. It takes place in the boston park, making it an urban community area. LED lighting is regulated by custom micro-controllers that signals their activity levels, going from light white light to a purple one when it is in motion. It’s the mechanism of internal monitors which detect the movement and change colors depending on the motion’s force. This responsive elements invite users to interact with each other and creates a unique experience and ambient. We would love to try them out!
