As it is almost summer, possibilities of what to do pop up like flowers. Especially in Vienna, there are now really lots of cool events and happenings that should not be missed. Bars and restaurants opened their terraces, pop-up venues emerge, outdoor concerts are played and options of chilling outside multiply. There are pretty nice places to hang out and have drinks outside.

The Museumsquartier is THE place to hang out among young people. The area, surrounded by museums, includes some nice bars and restaurants with terraces and of course there are the famous Enzis, the big and cozy benches where the brought along drinks are consumed. There are some Viennese people who basically spend their whole summer in the MQ. This thursday, it’s the official summer opening party with free entry to the museums and outdoor concerts in the main court!
The area of the Wiener Eislaufverein, where people use to do ice skating in winter, turns into a huge beach for summer. Numerous beach bars offer delicious food and gorgeous cocktails, to be consumed on deckchairs in the sand. Until september 3rd, beach lovers all around the city can satisfy their needs there.
There are countless public locations for watching the European Soccer Championship. Even if you are not a fan of soccer – watching the EM together in a big crowd is always such a fun thing to do that even the biggest anti-fans enjoy it! Among the best places to watch are definitely Hermann Strandbar, Rathausplatz, Altes AKH and WUK! From June 10th to July 10th
Some of Vienna’s best restaurants such as Pancho or Riva opened their food mile along Donaukanal at Rossauer Lände for the 20th time now. Exotic international food, a cozy yet lively atmosphere and a beautiful view over the Donaukanal… At the summerstage you totally forget about beeing in the city and get this vacation feeling immediately. It is open every evening of the week until the end of September. The perfect location to celebrate together at a dinner!
In the months of July and August the Rathausplatz is only about two things: food and movies – both open air of course. One food stall after one another – from Australian snacks over French crêpes and Turkish kebap to Austrian Apfelstrudel – there is nothing you won’t find!
