There is not much not to love about Dessie Jackson. She was gifted with an incredible talent, most of us wish they had, and this not without appreciation; she has been featured in Complex and JUMP Magazine. She was commissioned to create the cover art for Gilbere Forte’s single “Nolita”, and she was selected to design a T-shirt for The Hundreds.
People who have met her, know how modest she is about her work, she describes it as “beautiful” with a slight quirkiness, sometimes darkness, Contemporary subjects, beauty, and femininity rolled in one. Jackson herself has not figured out what her work is trying to express – but yet it is just as lovely to look at. You can also find tracks of fashion, music and lifestyle hidden in her art pieces, which makes them even more aesthetic.
