It is that time of the year again. The Oscars are around the corner and the official nominations are out. The Oscars are by far one of the most awaited awards of the year where every spotlight is pointing towards the West Coast of America and all the most talented people in the film and production community meet to celebrate another year of successful results. The Oscars are a great excuse to get all your friends together and organising a nice get-together for the night. Some popcorn and some bottles of wine would do for the night, leave the rest to all the folks that put the whole show together and make it every year more magical and surprising.
This year’s nominations count with many talented artists, let us list only some of them, since listing them all would probably mean staying here until tomorrow. So first of all and probably most important, “La La Land”. Starring the one and only Ryan Gosling and the beautiful Emma Stone, they have obtained no more, no less than 14 nominations. BOOM! The list of Best Actress nominees counts with nothing but the best actresses of the moment including; Emma Stone for “La La Land”, Natalie Portman for her role as Jackie Kennedy, Ruth Negga for her leading role in “Loving”, Meryl Streep for her job on the movie based on a true story, “Florence Foster Jenkins” and Isabelle Huppert for “Elle”. On the other hand, the list of nominees for Best Actors include; Casey Affleck for “Manchester by the Sea”, Andrew Garfield for his role on “Hacksaw Ridge”, Ryan Gosling for his stunning performance on “La La Land”, Viggo Mortensen for “Captain Fantastic” and last but not least Denzel Washington for his brutal performance on “Fences”.
