Metals found their way into this season’s fashion through numerous different approaches. Either its metallic shining platform sneakers, slippers in golden hues or the shimmering dresses we saw on the catwalks of Roksanda, Oscar de la Renta or Elie Saab. Metals are omnipresent this spring and summer and there is now way around them if one tries to keep up with the latest (and most important) trends of the year.
But apart (or rather together with) the metallic trend, there is another key component that is inevitable for this season: eyelets and other metal detailing. Huge, metal-framed loops appear on dresses and therefore provide one or another deep insight. Less provocative are purses or sandals with decent shimmering, studs or eyelets. Even though this trend is very much inspired by 90′s fashion, thinking of big loop earrings, or Liz Hurley’s dress made with safety pins (known as THAT Dress nowadays), it is today approached in a more classy and chic way. Who thought that metals could ever bee that soft?
