The geek chic was a big topic on fall/winter runways. There was one look that immediately caught everyone’s attention and that is discussed and imitated since then: the Margot Tenenbaum inspired look from Gucci. We all remember the always-suffering girl from the Wes Anderson movie ‘The Royal Tenenbaums’ from 2001. The character of Margot is best known for her signature look: straight cut, sleek hair, a beret, long fur coat and loafers. The dark kajal surrounding her eyes accentuates the sad attitude. What we didn’t know when watching the movie back then: This girl really got style. Better late than never, we are now embracing this look from head to toe.
What is almost as important as her style is Margot Tenenbaum’s attitude: cool, bored and a bit depressed while smoking one cigarette after an other (But these things we like to skip when emulating her).
