Yes, the loafers are back again – or have they even ever been gone? Actually, no. But with hot temperatures they are of course not always the best option to go for. Bearing the summer heat is just easier with Birkenstocks and sandals. For the slowly but surely declining temperatures, we are bringing back our beloved loafers – or getting our hands on a new pair.
Fall season 2016 has something new upon it’s sleeves for us: we now differentiate between 3 types of loafers:
1. The (Perforated) Rubber Sole
For an ‘edgy’ appearance, loafers get outfitted with a thick (treaded) sole. The contrast of the neat upper and the clunky sole makes the impeccable breach of style. With these versatile shoes you have both: a classy and a punky piece – the general appearance depends on the outfit they are worn with.
2. The Tasseled Loafers
Tassels are always an eyecatcher, whether on purses, dresses or shoes! To loafers they add an elegant touch, but without being too obtrusive. Tasseled loafers are often associated with a business look, though they work as good as leisure wear or in an evening outfit.
3. The Classic Model
For everyone who likes it simple and clean, the classic loafer is the best alternative! It is the perfect match for a decent casual or elegant look, but also the most convenient option to pair an outfit with, that is loud enough by itself.
