It’s Kirtag time! The traditional Austrian Volksfest is held all over summer, but from mid-August it’s the high season. Therefore eating, drinking and dancing outside, singing along volk songs is always a must and for your wardrobe, this obviously means that we finally get to dig up our dirndls again!
For the Kirtag season ahead, which is by the way just followed by Oktoberfest time, we created three different looks for you. We hope you like them!
Look #1: Tradition Meets Modernity
For an update of the classical dirndl look, we added some modern-day pieces. The denim jacket and the colorful clutch spice things up a little bit, but not too much, so that the folk festival appearance is still given.
Look #2: It’s A WOman’s Wolrd
Wearing the traditional Austrian garb as a woman does not automatically have to involve a dirndl… So why not opting for garb leather pants instead? It’s a funny change and sets a strong (fashion) statement!
Look #3: Classy Chic
The last Kirtag outfit is a traditional one, held in the ‘rural’ colors fir green and dark red, which come just right to ring in the beginning of fall (yes, summer is not over yet, but we probably have to face this situations soon..!). The classical Janker from Lena Hoschek is very convenient for the cooler days that might turn into long nights and it can also be worn with Jeans for an upgraded casual daytime look! Doesn’t it remind you of Romy Schneider in the Sissi movies?
