A few weeks ago, while I was in Paris for fashion week, I got a message from my friend Michelle who lives in Dubai. She wanted to invite me to be part of her next project. She asked me if I was interested in joining her and her friends on a social media campaign that would take place on a private island in the Maldives!! Too good to be true, right? How often do you receive that kind of invitations? And what is actually a private island?
Time went by and here I am, right now I am writing to you and sending you kisses from a private island, called Buda Hithi, which is situated somewhere in the middle of the Indian Ocean. It is private because there are only 6 villas and they can be rented by a small group of person. If you want to stay here, you cannot rent only one villa, you have to rent all the 6 villas on this island. Privacy and exclusivity to the maximum.
The Maldives have always been a big dream of mine. But not anymore. I used to look at photos of the turquoise waters and of sea houses in magazines and couldn’t believe it until I saw all this with my own eyes a few days ago.
I flew from Bratislava to Dubai. I stayed one night in Dubai and then I flew to Male, which is the capital of the Maldives. I am going through the most beautiful days of my life. I escaped the cold weather. I walk around the little island wearing my swimsuit and my Humanic sandals. Don’t expect to see any outfit on this blog post. There is no need to dress up here. No make up, nothing. I just found the Birkenstock Gizeh sandals in the Humanic shop and thought I will need them for my next travel experience. I can also wear them at home when I am back in Vienna – once summer is about to delight us again.
