Fashion and music weren’t the inspiration for naming the blog and website Frock&Roll for no reason. If Sinatra is to be believed these two are inseparable like love and marriage, which is why both industries have been collaborating for a long time and are coming up with new and creative ideas to continue to do so in the future.
By adding music to a catwalk show for example the designers are able to tell more about their collection, their inspirations and a perfect soundtrack is able to tell a full story. By having musicians wearing the designers’ clothes the brand can of course add an edge and in the case of Hedi Slimane for example develop a whole image based on the musicians he is working with.
Burberry also places emphasis on music, it is in fact so important that the company has its own music team. Not only are hey sourcing for the perfect backdrop for the catwalk shows but they sourcing bands to work with and recording sessions for their own music channel on YouTube (Burberry Acoustic). In the following I picked out my favourite acts that have recently been featured.
