10 Fresh Seasonal Smoothies

When you think of holiday drinks, smoothies might not be at the top of your list, you may be thinking hot chocolate, eggnog etc… but with New Years and our resolutions coming up, we would all like to be eat a little healthier… or at least try… (who can really say no to Christmas goose). But even though it is winter, there are some seasonal fruits still in season. These smoothies will try to satisfy your sweet tooth without reaching for the Santa shaped chocolates – and it is always a plus to take advantage of seasonal fruits! It will not only save you money but is also when they have the most flavor :)

Powerhouse Pumpkin

113 g canned pure pumpkin, frozen in ice cube tray
207 ml 2% plain Greek yogurt
125 ml water
¼ ripe avocado
28 grams ground flaxseed
15 ml maple syrup
½ tsp pumpkin pie spice

Combine all ingredients in a high-power blender and puree until smooth.

Peanut Butter Cookie Smoothie

125 ml 2% organic milk
125 ml water
1 sm banana, sliced and frozen
2 Tbsp natural peanut butter
2 Tbsp chia seeds
⅛ tsp salt

Combine all ingredients in a high-power blender and puree until smooth.

Potassium Peppermint

1 sm banana, sliced and frozen
¼ c raw cashews (soaked overnight and drained)
250 ml plain organic soy milk
75 ml silken tofu
50 ml mint leaves
¼ tsp pure vanilla extract

Combine all ingredients in a high-power blender and puree until smooth.

Red and Green Smoothie

250 ml water
½ c frozen cranberries
1 c kale leaves
1 sm banana, sliced and frozen
1 Tbsp honey

Combine all ingredients in a high-power blender and puree until smooth.

Great Gingerbread

50 ml sliced banana, frozen
207 ml 2% plain Greek yogurt
2 Tbsp raw almond butter
1 Tbsp molasses
1 tsp grated fresh ginger
¼ tsp cinnamon
⅛ tsp nutmeg
⅛ tsp cardamom
250 ml ice cubes

Combine all ingredients in a high-power blender and puree until smooth.

Oatmeal Cookie Smoothie

250 ml 2% organic milk
125 ml water
1 sm banana, sliced and frozen
50 ml rolled oats
2 Tbsp raisins
⅛ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp vanilla extract

Combine all ingredients in a high-power blender and puree until smooth.

Winter Citrus Smoothie

125 ml 2% Greek yogurt
125 ml ice cubes
3 clementines, peeled
2 Tbsp frozen orange juice concentrate

Combine all ingredients in a high-power blender and puree until smooth.

Mulled Pear Smoothie

125 ml ice
50 ml frozen blueberries
1 ripe pear, sliced
⅛ tsp cinnamon
⅛ tsp ground cloves

Combine all ingredients in a high-power blender and puree until smooth.

Apple Pie Smoothie

250 ml ice cubes
1 fuji apple, seeded and diced
1 Tbsp maple syrup
¼ tsp cinnamon

Combine all ingredients in a high-power blender and puree until smooth.

Peppy Pomegranate-Cherry Smoothie

½ banana
125 ml pomegranate juice
125 ml frozen cherries

Combine all ingredients in a high-power blender and puree until smooth. Enjoy!
