Austrian-born designer Peter Pilotto has been playing among the big of the fashion scene for quite a long time now with his same-named label that he is running together with Christopher De Vos. For the show of their Fall/Winter 2017 collection at London Fashion Week, they planned something very special, including one more Austrian name. The London-based label asked shoes manufacturer Ludwig Reiter to equip their models with exclusive footwear. The result of the collaboration is a new-interpretation of 4 classic shoe models of Ludwig Reiter, which are called Kapuziner (Capuchin), Après-Ski, Kaminschuh (Chimney Shoe) and Reiterstiefel (Riding Boots). Their design is held in the style of the clothes, with detailed kaleidoscopic embroidery and mesmerizing colors. As for the materials, precious fabrics as chenille, tweed and velvet were used.
Originally initiated for a single-time appearance at London Fashion Week, the request for the shoes was so big that the shoes house decided to put them up for sale. They will be available in assorted shops and online stores from this fall.
The project with Pilotto was not the first collaboration with an international fashion brand. In the past, Ludwig Reiter already teamed up with Helmut Lang and Paul Smith.
